After enlisted tours in the USAF, Air National Guard and the Navy he was commissioned and designated a Naval Flight Officer on the P-3 aircraft. His next 26 years of active service consisted of various assignments of increasing responsibility in aviation patrol squadrons, onboard Naval Air Stations, and on major aviation staffs. Jim Steinbaugh, CAPT, USN (Ret)

Jim began his Naval career in 1967 as an enlisted graduate of Underwater Demolition Training in California. Assigned to UDT-12, he made two deployments to Vietnam to conduct hydrographic reconnaissance missions and related amphibious operations. He was accepted to Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in 1976. Returning to UDT-12, he deployed as an Assistant Platoon Officer. Jeff Snyder, Col, USAF (Ret)

Jeff had 30 years of operational aircraft maintenance experience with extensive expertise in tactical aircraft maintenance. He commanded three maintenance squadrons and a maintenance group. After retirement in 2008, Jeff became a consultant for a large defense contractor, where he provided in-depth assessments of maintenance operations. Bob Rebscher, Capt, USMC (Ret)


Bob joined the USMC Reserve in 1956 while in high school on Long Island, NY. After graduating, he entered active duty and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. During the first of two tours in Vietnam, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant (Temporary) due to the Corps’ need for additional officers. Later, as a Captain, he reverted to Gunnery Sergeant. Herb grew up in Leawood, Kansas and graduated from the U S Naval Academy in 1961. He served in Submarines for the majority of his career. Following retirement, he worked as a consultant for several Navy and Marine Corps acquisition programs. Since retiring, he and his wife have made their home in Flat Rocks, NC.

Rodney "Rod" Honeycutt, COL USA (Ret)

Army Rep

Rod is a WNC native serving in the United States Army from Private to Colonel from 1984 to 2021. Enlisting in 1984 and receiving a commission in 1991 through the University of South Carolina ROTC as a Quartermaster Officer with an Armor Officer branch detail. His education includes master's degrees in Logistics from the Florida Institute of Technology and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
