WNC-MOAA was selected as a recipient of a 2025 MOAA Community Outreach Grant from The MOAA Foundation, receiving $3,250 in support of the Veterans Healing Farm in Mills River, NC. The grant will directly support programs that help veterans and their families build connection, purpose, and wellness through agriculture and community engagement.

Chapter leaders and members presented the grant check to the Veterans Healing Farm team at their farm campus. Veterans Healing Farm is a nationally recognized nonprofit that provides veterans and their families with a safe, supportive environment to learn new skills, grow fresh produce, and build meaningful connections. The organization distributes thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables each year to veterans, families, and local food banks at no cost.
