MOAA Member, WWII Vet turns 100!
WWII Vet and longtime Surgeon Dr. PJ Moore celebrated for birthday and a lifetime of service
Pierce Jones (PJ) Moore, Jr., MD, celebrated his 100th birthday in Fletcher, NC, on 28 June in a ceremony delayed since March by COVID-19. Accompanied by his wife Elaine, and surrounded by family, friends, and representatives of Veterans organizations, PJ was honored for a lifetime of service. PJ operated on hundreds of injured soldiers from the Battle of the Bulge and continued as a surgeon until the age of 96...the longest-serving surgeon in NC. WNC-MOAA Chapter President Donna Culp presented PJ with a MOAA life member pin and MOAA cap.
