WNC-MOAA Quarterly Membership meeting - Guest speaker was Chapter member CDR Carl Burkett, USCG (Ret.) giving a presentation on the history of the U.S. Coast Guard. Also attendance was Jay Garbus – President, NC Council of Chapters, who presented MOAA's Outstanding Service Award to CAPT Michael A. Covell, USN (Ret.). As a result of Mike's recent passing the award was presented to Joanie Covell, CAPT Covell’s Surviving Spouse.
