Wreaths Across America Challenge – Western North Carolina
WNC-MOAA led a regional Wreaths Across America Challenge, sponsoring wreaths for multiple Western North Carolina cemeteries to ensure every veteran is remembered and honored. Members and community partners supported wreath-laying ceremonies across the region in December 2025. Ongoing Service at Veterans Restoration Quarters
WNC-MOAA members volunteered regularly at the temporary Veterans Restoration Quarters location, preparing and serving meals to the homeless veterans displaced by Hurricane Helene. One volunteer shift served more than 200 meals, including during a recent filming of by the This Old House “Carolina Comeback” project team.

Supporting JROTC Leadership and Excellence
WNC-MOAA continued its long-standing support of local JROTC units, including providing financial assistance to the North Henderson High School Air Force JROTC team, which earned national recognition at the USAF Academy Invitational Drill Meet. The cadets’ historic performance reflected leadership, discipline, and teamwork.
